Inner-city poverty relief
Date:
3/13/10, 10:00am The Isaiah Project Volunteers are needed to distribute groceries, clothing, furniture and diapers to low income families living on government support or in nner-city neighborhoods. Volunteers can keep the grocery tables stocked, the clothing tables tidy, bag diapers or hand out lunch. There is always room for new volunteers to plug in. The second Saturday of every month Shoulder To Shoulder, Inc. brings poverty relief in two ways. Throught short term aid we hope to fill the gap that finances and life crisis cause in people's homes. We believe that providing groceries, clothing, furniture and diapers that we are helping hardworking and needy people survive on limited resources. Accepting our free gifts allows single mothers, grandmothers and families the resources to pay rent and utility bills on fixed, low incomes. We also bring relief by fostering long-term, impactful relationships with the families we serve. Volunteers and needy families develop deep friendships that help each endure tough times. These friendships are fostered by continuing commitment to the program and the openess in the community of poverty to trust our organization and our volunteers. |
